Interns are eligible to receive a housing stipend and tuition reimbursement for internship credit during the internship period. As a Daktronics coop, you will get an opportunity to shadow an experienced Daktronics engineer, apply classroom knowledge.
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual who is not only interested in developing professionally, but also drawn to being able to play an active role in the world's leader in Large Format Electronic Display Systems.
Some of the primary responsibilities of this position include:
1. Involvement with product development efforts.
2. Collect and interpret data from engineering tests.
3. Creo and other CAD support of product developments.
4. Hands on Engineering and prototyping on new designs.
5. Work effectively as a team member.
6. Work with little supervision.
7. Help where and when needed.
8. Make and implement suggestions for product and process involvement; communicate effectively with team members.
9. Use good judgments in difficult situations and make good decisions.
10. Perform other duties as required to support Video Products Engineering.
11. Regularly and reliably work the scheduled shift.
Requirements
1. Full time student or recent graduate pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
2. Required to take a semester off, duration of Internship January 12, 2015 through August 14, 2015. Work through the Cooperative Education/Internship Program at accredited university and Faculty Coordinator to arrange for credit while participating in this 7 month internship.
3. Knowledge of general drafting practices required. Solid modeling experience preferred.
4. Dedication and desire for quality performance. Ability to communicate well with others via written and verbal skills.
5. Organizational, planning, and problem solving skills.
6. Computer and keyboarding skills essential.
7. Detail oriented.
8. Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
9. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
10. Background check may be conducted.
11. Required GPA of 3.0 or greater.
12. We do not sponsor immigration visas for this position.
