APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER.
Position Description:
The Maternal Child Health (MCH) program is part of the Office of Child and Family Services within the Department of Health. The MCH program provides a wide variety of services across the state including family planning, prenatal and parenting education and support, infant safe sleep, adolescent mental health and suicide prevention, and improving access to health care services. This intern position will assist the MCH team with the following projects:
  • Federal Review preparations
  • Evaluation of community needs assessment data
  • Reviewing and developing educational materials for partners
  • Research to support policy updates, quality improvement projects, and trainings for staff that provide direct services to clients
  • Assisting staff to gather information for the development of state and federal grant reports.

Preference will be given to students who have experience or have taken courses related to health care, public policy, public health, or nursing.

Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
