Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. As a feeder department, the Electronic Assembly Department is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of electronic components to the final assembly departments.
1. Work to improve procedures and processes to reduce scrap and rework in the Testing area.
2. Inspect, test, and troubleshoot Printed Circuit Boards, assemblies, and sub assemblies under the direction of a technician; perform these tasks using the applicable drawings, schematics, and parts lists, in addition to test procedures written for the product under test.
3. Assist in maintaining, reviewing, and updating existing test procedures, as well as assist in part or in total with writing and implementing new test procedures.
4. Utilize skills to assist in training assemblers on setting up and performing functional tests.
5. Learn Daktronics products, systems, and processes.
6. Effectively operate within the Glovia software environment.
7. Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours.
8. Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.
9. Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations.
Requirements
1. Associate's degree in Electronics or a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
2. Strong background in troubleshooting to the component level on both Through Hole and SMT (Surface Mount Technology).
3. Hand soldering skills in both SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and Through Hole assemblies.
4. Computer skills including Excel, Outlook, and Glovia ERP preferred.
5. Good technical writing and verbal communication skills required. Fluent in English; written and verbal.
6. Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
7. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
8. Ability to learn quickly.
9. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be verified.
10. Physical Requirements include the ability to:
10.1 lift and carry up to 50 pounds;
10.2 distinguish and identify wire colors;
10.3 work with odors (solder/coating);
10.4 maintain hand-eye coordination;
10.5 stand and/or sit for the full shift.
11. Background check may be conducted.
12. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
