Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hrs/week during the academic year and at least 20hrs/week during the summer.
Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. We focus our sales and marketing efforts on geographical regions, markets and products. The primary categories of markets include Live Events, Commercial, Transportation, Schools and Theatres and International. Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these five markets.
Transportation applications include display systems for state and city departments of transportation, mass transit systems, airlines and airports, bus terminals and other transportation agencies. Customer service is responsible for after-sale service and support programs. Service Agreements are a valuable told to help support customers' needs and maintain their investment. This position is responsible for assisting Account Managers and supporting business by selling service agreements and executing contracts in the Live Events Market.
1. Assist LES Account Managers to grow service business for all regions.
1.1. Promote, quote, and sell service agreements.
1.2. General clerical tasks including phone support, accurate and timely data entry, customer correspondence, quote, word-processing projects, spreadsheet entry, copying and filing.
1.3 Work closely with coordinators to request pricing and send service agreement offers to customers.
2. Assist LES Account Managers in providing knowledge to the region regarding service processes, procedures and sales.
2.1 Assist with organizing site recovery projects and proactive service.
3. Use good judgment and make effective decisions.
4. Interact with customers using effective written and verbal communication skills.
5. Professionally represent Daktronics while working with a variety of customer inquiries and concerns.
6. Become an integral part of the service team and become knowledgeable about customer service processes.
7. Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner. Inspect own work. Quickly learn new tasks. Accurately and consistently complete repetitive tasks.
8. Work effectively as a team member, work with little supervision, help with and where needed, make suggestions for process improvement, communicate effectively with team members, be at work on time and maintain good attendance and follow company guidelines and policies.
9. Regular and reliable work attendance.
10. Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
1. Ideal candidate must be a fulltime student pursuing a degree in business, economics or related field and in their sophomore, junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
2. Have good written and verbal communication skills.
3. Be self-motivated, flexible and have good organizational skills.
4. Computer knowledge/experience preferred especially Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Keyboarding skills of 45 wpm.
5. Office experience helpful. Prefer Daktronics sales, product or manufacturing experience.
6. Ability to manage time properly to meet deadlines.
7. Ability to work as a team player.
8. Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle will be checked.
9. Must be able to read and speak English.
10. Background check may be conducted.
