Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. We focus our sales and marketing efforts on geographical regions, markets and products. The primary categories of markets include Live Events, Commercial, Transportation, Schools and Theatres and International. Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these five markets.
1. Ensures that the appropriate inventory/material is ordered on time (and is the appropriate volume) to support the Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/Master Production Schedule (MPS) schedule. The buying function also includes expediting or de-expediting material as required by the MRP/MPS process.
2. Ensures that vendor/supplier performance is reported (Key Performance Indicators (KPI) - Vendor Score Card) to Corporate Sourcing.
3. Buyers or Buyer/Planners are limited to placing purchase orders (PO's). Required to order from pre-approved sources (Senior Buyers). Input (KPI Data) and participation is involved in vendor management situations.
4. Buyer/Planner is required to manage PO status. Status calls and interaction, as applicable, to ensure prompt inventory/materials delivery.
5. Responsible for keeping GR/IR balances at or below the Material Management goal.
6. Buyer has expanded authority to order MRO type supplies (non-production related) at the request of authorized plant personnel. Corporate Procurement Card (P card) use as required.
7. Insures data problems are identified and resolved. Must maintain accurate systems information in support of MPS viability.
8. Analyze inventory records and dollars invested, ensuring that systems and reports are accurate in their representations.
9. Manage Material flow and analyze the impact of production actuals on dollars remaining in inventory.
10. Based on MRP/MPS requirements, coordinate with Buyer to ensure EOQ and lot size configuration.
11. Become knowledgeable of and follow company procedures.
12. Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet Daktronics growth and customer expectations.
Requirements
1. BS degree in Math, Business Economics or comparable degree.
2. APICS certification preferred.
3. Material/production control experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
4. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills required. Fluent in English, written and verbal.
5. Computer skills required include: Glovia, Word, and Excel.
6. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
7. Ability to travel via ground and air. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor records will be verified.
8. Background screen may be conducted.
