Description
Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hrs/week during the academic year and at least 20hrs/week during the summer.
Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. We focus our sales and marketing efforts on geographical regions, markets and products. The primary categories of markets include Live Events, Commercial, Transportation, Schools and Theatres and International. Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these five markets.
1. Produce accurate design drawings and documentation for projects on AutoCAD and/or Creo Assist Engineers with design, drafting, bill of materials, and routing of documentation.
2. Assist in documenting and checking components in AutoCAD and/or Creo.
3. Develop concepts and ideas for designs on AutoCAD and/or Creo.
4. Build and test prototypes.
5. Prepare detailed blueprints of sub assemblies and parts.
6. Write operation and sequences and bill of materials (BOM).
7. Help coordinate the manufacture of systems on project basis.
8. Assist with installations as required.
9. Work with little supervision, organize workload efficiently, communicate effectively with internal and external customers, make decisions concerning designs when required.
10. Perform other duties as required to support the mechanical engineers.
11. Ability to regularly and reliably work scheduled hours.
Requirements
1. Educational Requirements: The ideal candidate must be a fulltime student pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related degree and in their sophomore, junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered.
2. Class graduate or work experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo.
3. Knowledge of general drafting practices required.
4. Good communication skills.
5. Computer skills and knowledge essential.
6. Knowledge of Daktronics products preferred. Daktronics manufacturing experience a plus.
7. Background check may be conducted.
8. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver''s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
10. Maintain acceptable GPA.
11. We do not sponsor immigration visas for this position.
