Daktronics, Inc designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of display systems to customers in a variety of markets throughout the world. We focus our sales and marketing efforts on geographical regions, markets and products. The primary categories of markets include Live Events, Commercial, Transportation, Schools and Theatres and International. Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling these five markets. This position is in the Shared Services department, which focuses on delivering excellent service to our internal customers. The Technical Writer will be responsible for documentation of existing processes, new product introductions, work instructions and other supporting materials. This position will also focus Web Page development using SharePoint to improvement and administration of the processes and systems to store and deliver the information in the right way to the right people at the right time.
1. Write user-friendly, easily understood instructions and support content for the installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
2. Work closely with process engineers, manufacturing engineers, technicians, and other functional groups in Manufacturing to gather information needed for documents.
3. Work with manufacturing personnel and engineers to ensure documents are always up to date and effective.
4. Revise and edit existing content or new content created by others.
5. Have or develop skills in utilizing Microsoft SharePoint to become the Divisional Manufacturing SharePoint administrator. Develop, improve, maintain and support the use of SharePoint web sites for the purpose of storing and sharing knowledge needed in design and manufacturing. Examples include document (process standards, manufacturing procedures, process reference documents, etc.) storage libraries, Daktronics machine zone (DMZ) pages, and revision request system.
6. Collaborate with other technical writing groups within the company to share knowledge, assist with large projects, and continuously improve the information flow methods, formats, media, and processes.
7. Be able to quickly and effectively learn new machines, systems, processes, or procedures.
8. Administration of online and printed documentation, storage, access and delivery.
9. Other duties as needed or assigned to continuously improve the service organization.
10. Be at work on time and maintain good attendance. Follow company guidelines and policies.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree required. Degree, classes or experience in Technical Writing, Technical Communications, English for Information Systems, English, Web Development, Mass Communications, or other technical areas preferred.
2. Word processing experience in Microsoft Word. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign preferred.
3. Must have strong information development/technical writing skills.
4. Must be able to learn and write about technical subjects.
5. Must be able to work on and track multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Be able to work effectively as a team member; work independently with little supervision.
7. Possess good oral and written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability and desire to accept responsibility and to take initiative.
9. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
10. Writing samples may be requested.
11. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
12. Background check will be conducted.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
